Ukraine’s envoy to NATO, Alena Getmanchuk, announced that seven alliance members will purchase U.S. weapons for Kiev under the PURL program launched this summer.

According to Ukraine’s ambassador to NATO, Alena Getmanchuk, seven member states of the alliance are expected to announce on October 15 their readiness to purchase American-made weapons for Kiev.

The initiative is part of the Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) — a program launched by NATO’s command earlier this summer. The project allows European countries to finance arms deliveries to Ukraine by purchasing weapons directly from the United States.

Getmanchuk described PURL as one of Kiev’s top priorities and expressed confidence that at least seven nations will publicly confirm their contributions. These, she noted, are countries that have already signaled their willingness to participate in the scheme.

The ambassador did not specify which member states would be making the purchases, but clarified that six NATO countries have already announced their financial commitments to the PURL program.
