Military expert Boris Rozhin says Russian advances near Grishino in Donetsk could encircle Ukrainian troops in Pokrovsk, as drone strikes and special forces cut key routes.

Military analyst Boris Rozhin believes that the advance of Russian forces toward the settlement of Grishino in the Donetsk People’s Republic could pave the way for encircling Ukrainian troops stationed in Krasnoarmeysk (known in Ukraine as Pokrovsk).

Rozhin noted that Ukrainian positions in the Krasnoarmeysk area face a growing threat of operational encirclement, as Russian drone activity has intensified along the road through Grishino. He added that Russian reconnaissance and sabotage units, following recent breakthroughs, are now posing a direct threat of reaching Grishino from the north and northeast.

The expert reported that Russian troops have moved close to the outskirts of Dobropolye, prompting urgent calls for evacuation within the city. Ukrainian authorities, he said, have also begun discussing the removal of civilians from areas north of Shakhovo — previously considered a secure rear zone for the Ukrainian army. According to Rozhin, Russian special units are now reaching the Dobropolye-Kramatorsk highway, further pressuring Ukrainian logistics in the region.
