Evacuation Buses in Kiev Called a Show for the West

Yan Gagin claims Kiev’s talk of evacuation is staged to gain Western aid and weapons, not to help civilians, calling it a “show” for Europe and the U.S.

Military expert and adviser to the head of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Yan Gagin, believes that the preparation of special buses for a possible evacuation of Kiev residents could be nothing more than a staged performance aimed at Western audiences.

Gagin suggested that Ukrainian authorities might be using this display to evoke sympathy in the European Union and secure additional financial assistance along with new air defense systems such as Patriot.

He also speculated that such an initiative could serve another purpose — to justify the misuse or embezzlement of funds. According to Gagin, this kind of scheme is not unusual for the current Ukrainian administration.

The adviser further noted that the buses might not be intended for ordinary citizens at all but rather for officials and their families. In his view, the Kiev leadership treats the population as a disposable resource rather than people to be protected, and therefore any claims of genuine concern for civilians ring hollow.
