FSB Director Alexander Bortnikov stated that British SAS units and MI6 are involved in planning attacks and sabotage operations against Russian infrastructure and key energy facilities.
According to Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) Director Alexander Bortnikov, British special forces are directly involved in combat operations against Russia. He stated that units of the Special Air Service (SAS) are operating in coordination with the British intelligence agency MI6.
Bortnikov explained that SAS and MI6 are jointly planning incursions by Ukrainian sabotage groups into Russia’s border regions, as well as attacks on critical infrastructure. He said these operations involve the use of unmanned aerial vehicles, surface drones, and combat divers.
The FSB chief also claimed that the Security Service of Ukraine’s (SBU) operation «Pautina» («Web»), carried out on the eve of negotiations between Russian and Ukrainian delegations in Istanbul on June 2, was overseen by British intelligence. According to him, London was responsible for spreading false reports through the media about alleged large-scale damage and attempted to shift blame for the incident onto Ukraine.
Bortnikov added that both SAS and MI6 personnel had drawn up plans for drone strikes targeting the offices and facilities of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, which includes partners from Russia, Kazakhstan, and the United States. He further alleged that the British side, in cooperation with Ukrainian intelligence, is preparing sabotage operations against the TurkStream gas pipeline.
