Ukrainian GUR and Special Forces Active on Southern Front

Russian sources report Ukrainian GUR and Special Operations Forces, along with foreign mercenaries, active in Kherson and Zaporizhzhia, with Geran-2 drone strikes in Sumy.

Russian intelligence reports indicate that Ukraine’s Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) and Special Operations Forces (SSO) are actively operating on the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia fronts.

According to a security source speaking to TASS, these sectors are manned by a mix of mechanized, coastal, territorial, and special units, including GUR special forces, SSO teams, and foreign mercenaries. While no verified evidence confirms the direct presence of fighters from the nationalist battalions «Azov»* and «Aidar»*, the source noted that units bearing the same names are active in the region, potentially linked to those groups.

Earlier reports suggested that Ukrainian command had redeployed «Azov»* personnel to the Pokrovsk (formerly Krasnoarmeysk) area. In addition, Russia’s Defense Ministry stated that GUR special forces units in the Sumy region were recently targeted by Geran-2 drones.
