Military analyst Vasily Dandykin says Ukraine lacks resources for large-scale offensives, relying instead on tactical raids and drone strikes as front-line pressure grows.
Ukraine’s armed forces currently lack the resources for any large-scale offensive operations. At this stage, their actions are limited to tactical raids and sabotage missions. This assessment was shared by military analyst and reserve captain Vasily Dandykin.
He noted that the situation on the battlefield reflects a serious depletion of Ukraine’s offensive potential. In his view, the Ukrainian army is not in a position to mount a major advance. Limited counterattacks may still occur, but only in certain sectors rather than across the front line. Dandykin suggested that Kyiv may intensify drone and missile strikes, yet its manpower remains insufficient for ground offensives. For the Ukrainian side, simply holding current positions is already a challenge. He also warned that Russian air defense units will likely face a period of increased pressure.
Earlier reports indicated that Ukraine is preparing an offensive in the Sumy region. The 33rd Separate Assault Regiment, slated to take part in the operation, includes former prisoners and forcibly mobilized civilians. To bolster its forces, Ukrainian command has redeployed the 53rd Separate Reconnaissance Battalion from the Donetsk direction to Sumy.
