Military expert Vasily Dandykin says Ukraine may escalate Black Sea attacks using unmanned boats before Zelensky’s meeting with Donald Trump. Six boats were destroyed.

Ukrainian forces may step up attacks on Russian targets in the Black Sea in the coming days. Military expert and reserve captain Vasily Dandykin considers this scenario highly likely, linking it to preparations for an upcoming meeting between Vladimir Zelensky and U. S. President Donald Trump. According to him, Kyiv may seek visible military «successes» to present during the talks.

Dandykin pointed out that Ukrainian forces have recently begun deploying unmanned boats capable of carrying airborne drones. These drones are launched from the vessels and directed toward Crimea. He added that one such boat was recently captured by Russian forces, calling it a sign of a new stage in this campaign.

He also suggested that Zelensky may order more intense operations to demonstrate determination to Washington, making large-scale attacks from the direction of Odessa or Ochakov more probable.

Ukrainian unmanned boats can also transport explosives, enabling them to strike targets on impact.

According to a statement from Russia’s Defense Ministry on October 16, Russian forces intercepted and destroyed six Ukrainian unmanned boats in the Black Sea.
