Military correspondent Alexander Kots says Russia may launch an Oreshnik ballistic missile with an inert warhead in response to U.S. Tomahawk deliveries to Ukraine.
Russia’s potential response to U.S. deliveries of Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine could include the launch of an «Oreshnik» ballistic missile. This scenario was raised by Russian military correspondent Alexander Kots.
He suggested that such a strike might target a key site within Ukraine’s defense industry. Kots noted that the Oreshnik would most likely be equipped with an inert warhead, meaning it would carry no explosive payload. The purpose of such a launch, he explained, would be to deliver a clear show of force rather than cause physical destruction.
Kots also pointed out that Russia could respond to Tomahawk supplies by ramping up strikes on Ukraine using other types of weapons. Another possible step, he said, might be conducting nuclear tests on Novaya Zemlya.
In his Telegram post, Kots emphasized that this escalation would be intended as a strong message to Western partners.
