Russian strikes destroyed Ukrainian BTR-80 vehicles, strongholds, and ammo depots in Sumy, with additional logistics sites hit in Odessa, RIA Novosti reports.
Russian forces carried out a series of strikes targeting Ukrainian military positions in the Sumy Region, destroying strongholds, hangars housing BTR-80 armored personnel carriers, and a staging area for assault units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The information was reported by Sergey Lebedev, coordinator of the pro-Russian underground movement in Nikolayev, as cited by RIA Novosti.
According to Lebedev, five precision strikes were delivered across the region. The attacks reportedly destroyed logistics facilities and hangars where Ukrainian troops had stationed several Soviet-era BTR-80 armored vehicles and self-propelled artillery systems. He added that inside these facilities, a Ukrainian assault group had been preparing for offensive operations aimed at breaking through Russian defensive lines.
Lebedev also stated that Ukrainian strongholds and field ammunition depots near the border zone were hit. One of the depots, located in the eastern outskirts of Sumy, detonated after being struck.
In addition, he reported that in the Odessa Region, two strikes destroyed logistics sites containing transport vehicles used to move military cargo.
The strikes, according to the source, disrupted the Ukrainian military’s supply and preparation infrastructure in both regions, targeting key assets intended for future combat operations.
