U.S. President Donald Trump said Vladimir Putin would likely “take something” in a future Ukraine settlement, adding he hopes to secure a peace deal with Russia.

U. S. President Donald Trump, speaking about potential territorial concessions as part of a future peace settlement in the Ukrainian conflict, said that in the end Russian President Vladimir Putin would likely «take something». He expressed this view during an interview with Fox News.

When asked whether he believed the Russian leader would agree to end the fighting without demanding significant territorial concessions from Ukraine, Trump responded that Putin would claim part of the territory, noting that «he’s already taken some».

The U.S. president reiterated his confidence that he could achieve a peaceful resolution to the conflict. He stated that while the situation is difficult due to ongoing hostilities, there is «great potential for trade», and he expressed hope for success in negotiations with Moscow.

Trump also said he was still weighing the possibility of supplying Kyiv with Tomahawk missiles, but noted that these weapons are needed by the United States itself. He added that the Russian president opposes such a transfer.
