Russian Forces Liberate Lenino in Donetsk Republic After Heavy Clashes

Russian troops have captured the settlement of Lenino in the Donetsk People’s Republic after intense fighting, inflicting major losses on Ukrainian forces in multiple directions.

Russian forces have taken full control of the settlement of Lenino in the Donetsk People’s Republic, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.

The ministry reported that units of the Central Grouping carried out a series of active offensive operations, resulting in the liberation of the area and the consolidation of Russian positions.

During the operation, Ukrainian troops suffered heavy losses. Under Russian fire came formations from a heavy mechanized brigade, three mechanized brigades, two airborne assault brigades, one assault brigade, as well as marine units and territorial defense forces of Ukraine.

Fighting took place in several areas, including Krasnoarmeysk (Pokrovsk), Grishino, Toretskoye, Novonikolaevka, Dimitrov (Mirnograd), Volnoye, and Novopavlovka in the Donetsk region, as well as Novogrigorovka in the Dnepropetrovsk region.

According to the Defense Ministry, Ukrainian forces lost up to 510 servicemen, four armored vehicles, six automobiles, and three artillery systems during the engagements.
