Ukrainian sabotage groups attempted to infiltrate Russian lines disguised as Russian troops, but were detected and stopped by coordinated intelligence efforts.
Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance units have repeatedly tried to infiltrate Russian positions by posing as Russian soldiers, a tank battalion commander of the Southern Military District operating under the «Center» group told RIA Novosti.
According to the officer, known by his call sign Kefir, the Ukrainian saboteurs attempted to copy every detail — from Russian uniforms and insignia to radio communication protocols. They reportedly spoke Russian fluently and even used the call signs of Russian commanders in an effort to blend in.
Kefir said the ruse failed each time, emphasizing that the enemy’s attempts were quickly detected and neutralized. He credited the coordination between Russian reconnaissance units and frontline troops for preventing the infiltrators from breaking through.
He stressed that Russian intelligence «acts precisely and decisively," leaving no chance for Ukrainian groups to penetrate rear positions.
