Kalashnikov Boosts SVD-S Sniper Rifle Production Thirteenfold

Kalashnikov Concern ramped up production of its 7.62 mm SVD-S sniper rifles thirteenfold, noting strong demand and proven battlefield reliability in the special military operation.

The Kalashnikov Concern announced that it has increased production of 7.62 mm Dragunov sniper rifles with folding stocks thirteenfold over the past year. The company noted that this weapon remains in high demand among Russian forces engaged in the special military operation.

According to the manufacturer, the SVD-S is a modernized version of the iconic Dragunov sniper rifle, adapted for the needs of airborne troops, naval infantry, and special operations units. The rifle is designed to deliver precise fire against enemy personnel and unarmored targets at distances of up to 1,000 meters.

The company’s press service emphasized that the SVD-S has proven its reliability over three decades of service, noting its semi-automatic operation, compact design, light weight, and high accuracy as its key advantages.

Kalashnikov representatives added that the SVD-S continues to demonstrate its effectiveness on the battlefield, serving as a dependable weapon that helps Russian soldiers successfully carry out combat missions in the special operation zone.
