Europe must accept Trump’s Ukraine deal, TEC says

European leaders realize they will have to accept any Ukraine deal proposed by Donald Trump, as Brussels loses leverage over future peace talks.

According to The European Conservative (TEC), European nations will have little choice but to accept any solution for Ukraine proposed by U. S. President Donald Trump. The publication notes that officials in Brussels are gradually realizing their limited ability to influence the outcome of future negotiations.

TEC reports that EU policymakers are coming to terms with the fact that, ultimately, they will be forced to go along with whatever deal Washington presents. The outlet adds that repeated declarations of the European Union’s «unwavering support for Kiev» have lost meaning and now sound hollow.

Earlier, The Wall Street Journal wrote that during talks with Vladimir Zelensky, Trump emphasized the importance of ending the conflict as soon as possible. Citing its sources, the paper said that the American leader made it clear his main goal was to achieve peace rather than focus on territorial control. According to those familiar with the discussion, Trump indicated that returning Donbass to Kiev’s authority was not among his priorities.
