Vice Admiral Vladimir Tsimlyansky stated that trained reservists in Russian Armed Forces units have proven their effectiveness, successfully defending infrastructure and repelling drone attacks.

Units of the Russian Armed Forces staffed with trained reservists have repeatedly proven their combat effectiveness, according to Vice Admiral Vladimir Tsimlyansky, Deputy Chief of the Main Organizational and Mobilization Directorate of the General Staff.

During a briefing, Tsimlyansky stated that formations composed of prepared reservists have demonstrated their efficiency while carrying out missions within several regions of the Russian Federation. He reminded that reservists are citizens who remain in the reserve and voluntarily sign contracts with the Ministry of Defense for active service in this capacity.

The vice admiral highlighted that mobile fire groups made up of reservists-often employees of local enterprises familiar with the area’s terrain and infrastructure-have successfully repelled drone attacks. Their coordinated actions, he noted, help ensure uninterrupted operations at industrial facilities and reliable protection of key sites.

Tsimlyansky also clarified that the new draft law proposed by the Ministry of Defense does not concern the general population. It does not include provisions for conscription, deployment to the zone of the special military operation, or service abroad. He stressed that there is no question of mobilization.
