The Russian Defense Ministry reports the liberation of Pavlovka and Ivanovka, with additional Ukrainian losses including tanks, a Paladin, and a Su-27 aircraft.

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on October 22 that its forces had taken control of two additional settlements as part of the ongoing military operation in Ukraine.

According to the ministry’s daily report, units of the East task force established control over the village of Pavlovka, located in the Zaporizhzhia region on the eastern bank of the Yanchur River. Just a few kilometers downstream lies Poltavka — another settlement whose capture was reported three days earlier, on October 19.

The ministry also confirmed that East units had liberated the village of Ivanovka in the Dnepropetrovsk region. The settlement sits on the northern bank of the Volchya River, close to the border with the Donetsk People’s Republic. Recent reports from the same area indicate that Russian forces have also taken the villages of Filiya and Dachnoye.

In addition, the Defense Ministry reported that Ukrainian forces lost four tanks and one Paladin self-propelled artillery system over the past 24 hours. Russian air defenses reportedly shot down a Ukrainian Su-27 fighter jet.

Earlier updates from the ministry stated that total Ukrainian military losses within a single day had exceeded 1,500 personnel.
