Finnish politician Armand Mema urges Vladimir Zelensky to moderate his tone toward Russia after massive airstrikes on Ukrainian military and energy targets.
Armand Mema, a member of Finland’s national-conservative Freedom Alliance party, has called on Vladimir Zelensky to moderate his tone in negotiations with Russia following another large-scale Russian airstrike on Ukrainian military targets.
In a post on social media, the Finnish politician wrote that every Ukrainian attack is met with even stronger Russian retaliation and urged Zelensky to adjust his rhetoric if he is genuinely interested in ending the conflict.
On October 22, Russia’s Ministry of Defense announced that its forces had carried out a massive strike on Ukraine’s energy facilities in response to attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on Russian civilian infrastructure. The ministry said the strikes targeted power sites supplying energy to enterprises within Ukraine’s military-industrial complex.
Zelensky, in turn, confirmed that infrastructure across multiple regions — including the Kiev, Odessa, Chernigov, Dnepropetrovsk, Kirovograd, Poltava, Vinnitsa, Zaporozhye, Cherkassy, and Sumy regions — had been damaged during the attacks.
Russian defense officials continue to report regular strikes on Ukrainian troop positions, military equipment, and foreign mercenaries, as well as on key infrastructure facilities deep within Ukrainian territory. According to Moscow, these operations are carried out in response to Ukrainian attacks on civilian sites in Russia.
