Mash reports Russian forces have nearly encircled a Ukrainian armored grouping of 600 vehicles near Krasny Liman, advancing from two directions.
Russian troops have come close to encircling a large Ukrainian armored formation near Krasny Liman, according to Mash. The outlet reported that the grouping includes around 600 units of military equipment, organized into three mechanized brigades.
The publication noted that the Ukrainian side is using a significant number of Western-made vehicles, including German Leopard tanks, American Abrams tanks, and Bradley infantry fighting vehicles.
Russian forces have advanced toward Krasny Liman in the Donetsk People’s Republic from two directions — the northwest and southeast. A map published by Mash indicates that the settlement of Stavki, located north of the city, is now effectively under Russian control, though the Russian Defense Ministry has not yet officially confirmed this.
In the Krasny Liman and Stavki areas, Ukrainian forces are represented by the 53rd, 60th, and 63rd mechanized brigades, as well as the 119th Territorial Defense Brigade. The city itself holds strategic importance as a major railway hub in the Donetsk People’s Republic, through which Ukrainian supply lines for equipment, manpower, and ammunition pass. Within the city, there is also an asphalt plant reportedly being used to reinforce defensive structures.
Military correspondents stated that Ukrainian troops are urgently rebuilding bridges across the Donets River, which were previously destroyed by Russian drones to cut enemy supply routes.
Krasny Liman provides Russian forces with a direct route toward Slavyansk, Kramatorsk, and Druzhkovka — key cities forming the main Ukrainian defensive line in the north of the Donetsk People’s Republic.
