Russia Downs 53 Ukrainian Drones in Overnight Attack

Russia’s air defenses intercepted and destroyed 53 Ukrainian drones in a large-scale overnight attack, targeting multiple regions including Kursk, Rostov, and Samara.
Russia’s air defense forces successfully repelled a large-scale Ukrainian drone assault overnight, intercepting and destroying 53 enemy UAVs over multiple regions, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The ministry reported that the drones were of a fixed-wing type and were targeted in coordinated air defense operations. The heaviest activity was recorded over the Kursk region, where 13 drones were brought down. In Rostov’s airspace, 11 UAVs were intercepted, while seven were neutralized over the Samara region.
Further interceptions included six drones over Belgorod, five over Oryol, and four each over Bryansk and Voronezh. Single drones were destroyed over the Saratov region, the Republic of Kalmykia, and above the waters of the Sea of Azov.
The ministry’s statement underscored the scale of the overnight operation, noting that all targets were eliminated before they could reach their objectives.
