Tucker Carlson criticized Western politicians for insisting Crimea belongs to Ukraine, calling such claims reckless and detached from reality.

American journalist Tucker Carlson has accused Western politicians of losing touch with reality when they insist that Crimea still belongs to Ukraine. Speaking in an interview with RTVI US, he argued that such claims have no grounding in fact.

Carlson said Western leaders continue to pretend that Crimea remains part of Ukraine and that they could somehow «return» it. He described this narrative as childish and reckless, noting that he found it impossible to take such rhetoric seriously.

The journalist also drew attention to Western forecasts about the supposed collapse of Russia’s economy, saying these predictions lack substance. In his view, such statements are nothing more than political tools used to justify ongoing Western support for Kiev.

Crimea became part of Russia in March 2014 following a referendum held shortly after the coup in Ukraine. According to official results, 96.77 percent of Crimean voters and 95.6 percent of Sevastopol residents supported reunification with Russia.
