Street Battles Erupt in Mirnograd as Russian Troops Enter

Russian troops have entered Mirnograd, where street battles are underway. Reports say the city may soon be cut off from Pokrovsk as fighting intensifies.

Russian troops have reached the city of Mirnograd, where street battles are already underway, according to Georgy Shapoval, a representative of Ukraine’s Operational Command «East».

The Ukrainian General Staff has also confirmed that Russian units have entered Mirnograd, noting that fighting is currently taking place on the outskirts of the settlement.

At the same time, Shapoval stated that assault units from Russia’s «Center» group are already engaged in combat within the city limits. He did not provide further details but said that Ukrainian forces continue to hold their positions and are actively reinforcing their defenses.

According to military sources, Russian troops are close to cutting off Mirnograd from Pokrovsk, which would eliminate the possibility of joint defense between the two locations. If Krasnoarmeysk falls, the Ukrainian garrison in its neighboring city would be encircled by Russian forces.

Earlier, media reports indicated that Russian units had entered Konstantinovka, where street fighting was also taking place.
