In an interview with the New York Post, U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance said the Ukraine conflict has reached a turning point and both sides are seeing diminishing returns.
In an interview with the New York Post, U. S. Vice President J. D. Vance admitted that just six months ago, he was convinced the conflict in Ukraine «would never end». However, he said that about a month ago, he began to see signs of meaningful progress toward a potential settlement.
Vance explained that half a year earlier, he would have predicted that «fifteen years from now, they’d still be fighting», but his assessment has since changed, noting what he described as «incredible progress» in recent months.
The vice president said the conflict has reached a stage where «both sides are getting diminishing returns» from their actions. He also recalled his tense exchange with Vladimir Zelensky in the White House in late February, admitting that he was angered at the time, viewing the Ukrainian leader’s behavior as unnecessarily harsh.
Vance added, however, that the U.S. administration has since «turned the page» and moved on from the incident.
