Russian Drone Strikes Hit Odesa Region, Fires Reported

Russian forces struck Odesa region overnight with about 30 Geran drones, hitting a power substation, Nova Poshta warehouses, and SOCAR oil terminals, causing major fires.
On the night of August 17–18, Russian forces carried out a series of strikes on military infrastructure facilities in Ukraine’s Odesa region.
At around 22:56, air raid sirens sounded across the area. Minutes later, monitoring channels reported a swarm of kamikaze drones approaching from the Black Sea. The drones circled overhead before beginning their attack nearly an hour later, when explosions were heard.
The heaviest damage occurred near a power substation in the village of Usatove, where a large fire broke out. Witnesses said the blaze was visible from a considerable distance.
Other strikes hit warehouse facilities belonging to the delivery company Nova Poshta along the Kyiv highway. Several buildings were damaged, and emergency crews worked at the site until morning. Terminals belonging to the Azerbaijani state oil company SOCAR were also targeted.
A post on the Telegram channel Voenkory Russkoy Vesny stated that Nova Poshta, described as a logistics hub for Ukrainian military supplies, and SOCAR terminals had been set ablaze following the strikes.
