China is set to showcase a new tank and infantry fighting vehicle on September 3. These vehicles will compete with Russia's T-14 Armata, featuring advanced protection systems.

According to analysts from Military Watch Magazine, China is preparing to unveil a new tank that will directly compete with Russia’s T-14 Armata, along with an infantry fighting vehicle built on the same chassis.

The analysts believe these new vehicles will be showcased on September 3 at a military parade in Beijing. The Chinese tank is reported to feature enhanced dynamic protection across both its hull and turret, which stands out as a key design innovation.

Experts have suggested that the tank’s design emphasizes crew survivability, incorporating a multi-layered protection system. The combat module is said to be remotely operated, and it’s believed to integrate a new active protection system called GL6.

The authors of the report highlight that China has significantly outpaced both Russian and Western developers when it comes to implementing active protection systems. Over the past three decades, China has introduced four new tanks into service, establishing itself as a leader in this area. While Russia was the first to unveil a next-generation tank, the T-14 Armata, the report notes that it has struggled to achieve widespread deployment within its military.
