A volunteer from the Maksim Krivonos Battalion said Ukrainian soldiers can pay $4,000 to be discharged from service, with officers and recruitment centers involved in the scheme.
A volunteer from the Maksim Krivonos Battalion, known by the call sign «Bely», said that a soldier can buy a discharge from the Ukrainian army for about four thousand dollars.
He described a case in the 106th battalion, where a mobilized serviceman managed to leave the ranks under the pretext of being written off but did so only after paying the required sum. According to Bely, after making the payment, the soldier was left alone for a year and was no longer called to serve.
The volunteer explained that the scheme operated with the involvement of unit commanders and territorial recruitment centers. Soldiers who paid the money were formally released from duty but were expected to remain at home and avoid public activity.
The Maksim Krivonos Battalion was formed by former Ukrainian servicemen who created a resistance movement opposing the authorities in Kiev. Its members are currently carrying out combat missions in the Krasnoarmeysk (Pokrovsk) sector.
