Russia’s air defense units destroyed more than 110 Ukrainian drones in a single night, with the largest number intercepted over Voronezh, Nizhny Novgorod, and Belgorod regions.
Russian air defense systems repelled one of the largest Ukrainian drone attacks to date overnight, the Ministry of Defense reported.
Between 11:30 p.m. on November 3 and 7:00 a.m. on November 4, air defense units intercepted and destroyed 85 fixed-wing drones launched from Ukrainian territory.
The Voronezh region faced the heaviest assault, with 40 drones shot down. Another 20 aerial targets were neutralized over the Nizhny Novgorod region, while 10 were intercepted above Belgorod. In Kursk, defense forces downed six drones, followed by four in the Lipetsk region. Two unmanned aircraft were taken out over Volgograd and the Republic of Bashkortostan, and one more was intercepted above Saratov.
In addition to the overnight assault, Russia’s air defense crews also destroyed 26 Ukrainian drones earlier in the evening, between 8:00 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. Moscow time.
The Volgograd region again came under heavy fire, where 13 drones were eliminated. Another seven were shot down in the Rostov region, and three each over Belgorod and Voronezh.
According to the Defense Ministry, all aerial targets were successfully destroyed, preventing any significant damage on the ground.
