Russian forces claim near-total destruction of Ukraine’s 53rd Mechanized Brigade in Serebryansky Forest as battles intensify near Seversk and Torske.

According to a source within Russia’s security services, the Russian Armed Forces have nearly destroyed Ukraine’s 53rd Mechanized Brigade during battles in the Serebryansky Forest. The source said that most of the unit’s personnel were left behind on this section of the front.

The insider, quoted by TASS, described the situation bluntly, stating that the brigade had lost combat capability and was effectively «finished» in the swamps and forests along the Seversky Donets.

Military channels also reported that Russian forces have achieved notable tactical gains on the Seversk front. A Russian flag was recently raised over Serebryanka, signaling control of the area. Analysts suggest that Moscow’s next steps may involve cutting Ukrainian supply lines leading into Seversk.

Despite the losses, Ukrainian troops continue to put up resistance, particularly on the southern outskirts of Torske, where fighting remains intense.
