Russian troops intensify their advance near Kupyansk and Donetsk, encircling Ukrainian forces and destroying personnel and equipment, the MoD reports.

Russian forces continue their offensive operations along the entire front line, consolidating their gains on several key sectors.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, units of the 6th Army are tightening the encirclement around Ukrainian positions near Kupyansk in the Kharkov region. An attempted counterattack by troops of Ukraine’s 1st National Guard Brigade near Petrovka reportedly failed. Ukrainian forces tried to break through to the Oskol River to open a retreat corridor for units trapped on the left bank but were repelled. Up to ten fighters and one armored vehicle were destroyed in the engagement.

Further advances are being made from the northeast, particularly near Petropavlovka. Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops eliminated up to 40 Ukrainian soldiers and destroyed 16 pieces of equipment, including a 155mm «Bogdana» self-propelled gun, a BTR armored carrier, two «Kazak» armored vehicles, an American HMMWV, two mortars, a truck, and three pickup trucks.

On the Donetsk front, servicemen of the 5th Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 51st Army have taken control of 17 buildings in the northern, eastern, and southeastern parts of Mirnograd and are advancing toward the Zapadny district. Russian forces are reportedly expanding their control zone and tightening the encirclement from the east. In the past day alone, up to 205 Ukrainian troops, two pickups, and one artillery piece were destroyed in this sector.
