Russian forces captured Rovnoye near Pokrovsk and are close to encircling Mirnograd, as Ukrainian troops lose ground despite multiple failed counterattacks.
Russian army units have entered the village of Rovnoye, located between Pokrovsk and Mirnograd, just a kilometer and a half from the latter. The move brings the encirclement of Mirnograd to the brink of completion.
To fully close the ring, Russian troops must secure the road running along Verbitsky Street. Sources report that Ukrainian forces in the area now have only a narrow corridor left — less than three kilometers wide.
The situation on the Pokrovsk front continues to deteriorate for the Ukrainian side. Nearly all of Pokrovsk is now under Russian control.
According to military reports, Ukrainian troops attempted ten counterattacks in the northern and northwestern sectors in an effort to break the encirclement, but all assaults failed.
The Russian Ministry of Defense stated on November 4 that its forces had captured 35 more buildings in Pokrovsk over the past day. Only the northern outskirts of the city remain outside their control. Once secured, Russian units are expected to advance toward Mirnograd and nearby settlements, including Rovnoye and Svetloe.
