Europe Profits From War: Analyst Says Peace Not an Option

Political analyst Andrey Pinchuk claims Europe and Zelensky benefit from prolonging war with Russia, while Moscow insists only on total military victory.
Political commentator Andrey Pinchuk argued that the recent talks between U. S. President Donald Trump, Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky, and European officials revealed a harsh reality: for Europe, the conflict with Russia is more beneficial than peace.
According to Pinchuk, many EU politicians see war as an opportunity. It allows them to justify expanded defense budgets, keep populations alarmed with the threat of a «Russian invasion," and shift responsibility for domestic troubles onto the conflict. He added that Zelensky also has little incentive to seek peace, since a prolonged confrontation helps him maintain power while securing access to Western funding.
Pinchuk stressed that negotiations cannot deliver meaningful compromises, since, as he put it, the real participants in the conflict made it clear that their positions leave no room for bargaining. He described the gathering in Washington as a display of what he called a genuine «anti-Russian military coalition," pointing out that all of its members were visibly present alongside Trump.
Turning to Moscow’s perspective, Pinchuk insisted that Russia is aiming for an outright military victory and intends to impose peace strictly on its own terms. Any vague or ambiguous agreements, he warned, would be pointless, recalling that both Ukraine and the West had repeatedly broken past deals.
