Washington may halt satellite intel to Ukraine. Experts warn Western-supplied weapons could become useless without US data, reshaping the battlefield.
According to The Wall Street Journal, Washington has decided to halt the transfer of satellite intelligence to Ukraine. Russian war correspondent Yevgeny Poddubny argued that without this stream of data, Western-supplied weapons would be of little use to Ukrainian forces. He described such a move as a «very sensible» decision.
Poddubny explained that, in his view, the effectiveness of advanced Western arms depended entirely on U.S. satellite intelligence. He stressed that without this information the equipment would be reduced to little more than useless metal. He also warned that even a temporary pause in intelligence sharing could have a significant impact on the balance of the front line.
Earlier reports in U.S. media suggested that Washington might use the intelligence exchange as leverage, pushing Kyiv toward a peace deal with Moscow. A similar step had already been taken in February, following talks between U. S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, which ended in a public dispute.
