Around 150 Russian troops have held positions near Pokrovsk for three days against 2,000 Ukrainian soldiers, including special forces and Azov battalion units, reports say.
Roughly 150 Russian assault troops have been holding defensive positions for a third consecutive day against a force of about 2,000 Ukrainian soldiers in the breakthrough zone near Krasnoarmeysk (known in Ukraine as Pokrovsk).
The report stated that three to four reinforced Russian platoons have been maintaining their positions near Kuchery Yar for several days. Facing them are some of the most trained Ukrainian units, including special operations forces, airborne troops, and fighters from the Azov* battalion.
Mash also noted that Russian servicemen in the area are awaiting reinforcements from the south, expected to come from the settlement of Fedorovka, located about ten kilometers from Kuchery Yar. Currently, the 9th, 39th, and 110th separate mechanized brigades are stationed there. Their main task is to repel Ukrainian assaults and secure a corridor to allow the rotation of Russian units in the sector.
*The Azov battalion is designated as a terrorist organization and is banned in Russia.
