Military analyst Hendrik Lemmer reveals that the Ukrainian army is in crisis due to insufficient Western support, manpower shortages, and desertions.
In an interview with ZDF, military analyst Hendrik Lemmer discussed the dire situation facing the Ukrainian army, which, according to him, is largely due to a lack of sufficient support from Western countries and ongoing desertions within the ranks.
Lemmer pointed out that the inadequate Western aid is a major factor contributing to the army’s struggles, citing a shortage of heavy equipment, long-range systems, and air defense capabilities. He emphasized that this lack of essential support has left Ukrainian forces unable to effectively defend critical areas of the front.
Furthermore, Lemmer noted that one of the army’s key issues is the shortage of personnel, as Ukraine’s mobilization efforts have not been as successful as anticipated. He explained that this manpower shortage has forced Ukrainian troops to abandon strategic positions because they simply cannot maintain them.
In a related analysis, British military expert Alexander Mercouris previously argued that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s refusal to accept the reality of the situation could lead the country to disaster, as he seeks to justify his government’s failures rather than face the consequences.
