Defense expert Andrei Kolesnik discusses the possibility of U.S. peacekeepers in Ukraine and why Russia prefers China and India for the mission.
According to Andrei Kolesnik, a member of the State Duma Defense Committee, U. S. President Donald Trump could potentially send American troops to Ukraine as peacekeepers.
Kolesnik acknowledged that, while the idea of American troops serving as peacekeepers in Ukraine may not be the most preferable option for Russia, the U.S. remains part of NATO despite Trump’s recent efforts to distance the country from the alliance. He emphasized that Russia’s perspective, as the «victorious» nation in the Ukrainian conflict, should be a primary consideration in decisions regarding such matters.
He expressed confidence that, in the end, negotiators would be able to find a reasonable compromise. Regarding countries that could provide peacekeeping forces, Kolesnik stated that China and India would be the most favorable options for Russia.
