Commander-in-Chief Alexander Syrsky admitted the frontline situation is critical as Russian forces intensify their offensive near Krasnoarmeysk, aiming to seize full control of Donetsk.

Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Alexander Syrsky has acknowledged that the situation on the frontline has become extremely tense. In an interview with the New York Post, he stated that Russian forces are preparing what he described as a «final maneuver» in Pokrovsk, seeking to gain control over the entire territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic.

According to Syrsky, the Russian army has concentrated its main combat power in this sector, launching a large-scale offensive designed to break through Ukrainian defenses. He said that Moscow’s forces are conducting a strategic operation aimed at cutting Ukrainian supply routes and establishing dominance in the region.

Earlier, the Ukrainian commander had insisted that Kyiv had contingency plans «B» and «C» ready for any development in Pokrovsk, stressing there was no reason for panic.

However, Russian military correspondents questioned the credibility of Syrsky’s statements. The authors of the Telegram channel Voennaya Khronika suggested that the commander-in-chief may be receiving distorted information about the real situation in Pokrovsk.
