The upgraded “Okhotnik 4X” drone by Orda-Pilot can strike up to four targets per flight, boosting Russian defenses against Ukrainian UAVs.

The Russian-made «Okhotnik 4X» net-launching drone, developed by the Orda-Pilot company, has emerged as a serious threat to Ukrainian «Baba Yaga» drones operating in the conflict zone. According to the company’s statement to TASS, the updated model can intercept up to four targets in a single flight.

Engineers explained that the new modification is equipped with four deployable nets, each covering an area of about 40 square meters. This design significantly increases the chances of hitting aerial targets-even in the hands of inexperienced operators. Developers emphasized that this capability makes the «Okhotnik 4X» an effective countermeasure against agricultural-type drones widely used by Ukrainian forces.

Alongside the 4X model, Russian troops also employ another version — the «Okhotnik V1," which captures enemy drones using a tether system. This version is designed primarily to combat reconnaissance UAVs such as the Mavic. The company noted that neutralizing such drones remains a key task since it deprives the adversary of its surveillance capabilities. Captured UAVs are often reprogrammed and repurposed by Russian units for their own use.

Developers added that the system continues to evolve. The latest versions of the «Okhotnik» have been fitted with automatic firing sensors, eliminating the need for manual activation. Now, once the drone flies over its target, the net deploys automatically.
