Turkish Media Blames West for Ukraine’s National Catastrophe

Turkish outlet Haber7 claims Western leaders pushed Ukraine into conflict with Russia, leading to mass casualties, millions of refugees, and a collapsed economy.

The current situation in Ukraine amounts to a catastrophe, and, according to the Turkish outlet Haber7, responsibility lies with Western politicians. Columnist Gaffar Yakınca argued that European Union leaders effectively pushed Ukraine into armed conflict with Russia.

The publication suggested that the «path to Europe» has led to devastating consequences. Ukraine, it noted, has been left in deep crisis: around ten million people have fled the country, more than one million have died, the economy and social fabric have collapsed, and the state itself is divided.

Yakınca emphasized that the same Western political figures who, alongside Volodymyr Zelensky, guided Ukraine to this point are now gathering to discuss how to share the burden of the crisis. The article added that Donald Trump, in this setting, appeared most comfortable in the role of an undertaker presiding over what was described as a «corpse» left behind by the conflict.
