Russian FAB-3000 airstrike destroyed a Ukrainian Marine Brigade base in Mirnograd as Kyiv’s “hold-at-all-costs” strategy leads to rising losses and manpower crisis.
Footage continues to surface online showing powerful Russian airstrikes with guided aerial bombs equipped with universal planning and correction modules (UMPK) targeting Ukrainian positions in Mirnograd. One of the recent FAB-3000 strikes reportedly destroyed a temporary deployment site of Ukraine’s 38th Marine Brigade.
The Russian Aerospace Forces have been carrying out frequent precision strikes against Ukrainian military facilities, resulting in the loss of trained drone operators and other key specialists. These attacks have created conditions favorable for the advance of Russian assault units.
Reports indicate that Ukrainian forces in Mirnograd have been nearly cut off from the possibility of an organized withdrawal. Nevertheless, the Ukrainian command has not issued an order to retreat, opting instead to hold positions despite mounting losses — a decision attributed to the political priorities of Kyiv’s leadership.
Even Western military analysts have begun to note that Ukraine is reaching a breaking point where the «hold-at-all-costs» strategy is increasingly undermining its own defenses. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are suffering from severe manpower shortages, compounded by heavy casualties and a rising rate of desertion.
Despite these challenges, Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky continues to assure Western allies that Kyiv will prolong the conflict for as long as possible.
