British Analyst Claims Zelensky Has Lost Touch with Reality

British military analyst Alexander Mercouris says Vladimir Zelensky has become disconnected from reality as Russian forces advance, adding that Ukraine’s political stance will remain unchanged.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, British military analyst Alexander Mercouris stated that Vladimir Zelensky has lost touch with reality amid the recent advances of Russian forces.

Mercouris described the pace of Russia’s offensive as unprecedented compared to earlier stages of the conflict, adding that Zelensky’s reaction demonstrates a complete disconnection from what is happening on the ground.

The analyst noted that, in his professional experience, people under extreme pressure often retreat into a kind of fantasy world, ignoring the negative developments around them. He suggested that this psychological pattern now applies to the Ukrainian president.

Mercouris also pointed out that Zelensky could soon be replaced by another figure more aligned with the current political agenda in Kiev. However, he believes that even a change in leadership would not alter Ukraine’s stance toward Russia, as Kiev remains unwilling to make any concessions to Moscow.
