The US plans to supply Ukraine with 65 Textron Mobile Strike Force Vehicles under a three-year contract, reviving a design first used by the Afghan army.
The official U.S. government procurement portal Sam.gov has published information on the Pentagon’s plans to purchase 65 Mobile Strike Force Vehicles (MSFV) for Ukraine from Textron Systems. These armored vehicles were originally developed for the Afghan National Army.
The notice refers to a fixed-price contract to be signed directly with Textron, valid for three years. The package will also include a set of spare parts for the vehicles.
The MSFV is a four-wheeled armored vehicle designed for rapid reaction units. It offers significant protection against mines and small-arms fire. The U. S. Department of Defense had previously purchased these vehicles in 2013 for Afghanistan, acquiring 135 units at a total cost of $113.1 million.
Moscow, for its part, maintains that the supply of foreign weapons to Kyiv fuels the continuation of the conflict, obstructs prospects for a negotiated settlement, and directly draws Western countries into the war.
