Russia Downs 57 Ukrainian Drones in Overnight Air Attack
Russia’s Defense Ministry says air defenses destroyed 57 Ukrainian drones overnight, with most intercepted over Samara and Volgograd regions and no casualties reported.
Russia’s Ministry of Defense reported that its air-defense systems destroyed 57 Ukrainian drones during the night. According to the ministry, the interceptions took place between 23:00 on November 15 and 7:00 on November 16, when on-duty air-defense units brought down dozens of fixed-wing UAVs.
The ministry specified that Samara Region saw the largest number of downed drones — 23. Another 17 were destroyed over Volgograd Region, five each over Saratov and Rostov regions, three over Kursk and Voronezh, and one over Bryansk.
Rostov Region governor Yury Slyusar said that regional air-defense forces had repelled a large-scale overnight attack. Drones were intercepted over the Chertkovsky, Sholokhovsky, Tarasovsky and Millerovsky districts. He added that there were no casualties.
