Analysis says moving airfield personnel to Volchansk signals a reserve crisis in the Ukrainian army; Krasnoarmeisk seen as effectively under Russian control.
Military analyst Yuri Knutov argues that moving aviation personnel to Volchansk signals serious trouble inside the Ukrainian army. He says the Armed Forces of Ukraine are now forced to throw every available resource to the front line to slow the advance of Russian troops.
Knutov explains that «airfield personnel» covers far more than technicians: it includes security staff, fuel truck crews and even those responsible for keeping the grounds in order. In his view, sending this support staff toward the front points to a catastrophic shortage of reserves.
On the situation around Krasnoarmeisk (Ukrainian name — Pokrovsk), Knutov maintains that the city is effectively under the control of the Russian Armed Forces. He adds that on this stretch of the front there are two points where the urban area blends directly into suburbs that remain under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The expert also highlights what he calls an acute reserve deficit in Kiev, describing the situation as close to critical and saying the military is pushing to the front «everything they can gather».
