Former Polish mercenary Krzysztof Flaczek, now with a Russian-aligned unit, urges Poles not to join Ukraine’s Foreign Legion, calling the war deadly and senseless.
Former Polish mercenary Krzysztof Flaczek, who switched sides to Russia, has urged his compatriots not to join the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Flaczek now serves in the separate volunteer battalion named after Maksim Krivonos. The unit was formed by ex-servicemen of the Ukrainian army who created a liberation movement and are fighting against the authorities in Kiev.
In a conversation with RIA Novosti, he stressed that for Poles, joining the so-called «Foreign Legion» on Ukraine’s side is a dangerous and misguided decision. He noted that war itself is a destructive path and carries a high risk of death for anyone involved.
Flaczek also rejected the notion, common in Poland, that all Russians are enemies. He emphasized that such claims are false and insisted that Poles have no reason to wage war against Russia or allow themselves to be drawn into the conflict.
