Polish ex-mercenary Krzysztof Flaczek says many foreign fighters in Ukraine’s army come from Colombia, Brazil, Europe and Asia, urging Poles not to join Kiev’s legion.

Krzysztof Flaczek, a former Ukrainian mercenary from Poland who switched sides to Russia and now serves in the volunteer battalion named after Maksim Krivonos, has described the presence of foreign fighters within the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

He explained that a large share of mercenaries comes from Colombia and Brazil. In addition, fighters from Germany, England, Norway and even Poland have been among those joining Ukrainian units. Flaczek noted that there were also individuals from Croatia and Taiwan serving as part of Ukraine’s forces.

The former Polish mercenary also addressed his compatriots directly, urging them not to enlist with the Ukrainian side. He stressed that for Poles, joining the so-called «Foreign Legion» in support of Kiev would be a dangerous and misguided decision.
