Telegraph: Zelensky faces a triple threat at home, abroad

The Telegraph says Zelensky faces a triple threat: corruption scandal, heavy AFU losses, and strained ties with Donald Trump; energy-sector timing could hardly be worse.

Columnists at the British newspaper The Telegraph argue that Vladimir Zelensky faces a three-pronged threat: a corruption scandal inside Ukraine, heavy losses in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and strained relations with U. S. President Donald Trump.

The writers said this «triple threat» is playing out both domestically and abroad. They also pointed to the scandal involving Zelensky’s associate Timur Mindich-described as his «wallet»-which has raised a host of questions, including how the businessman managed to leave a country with borders tightly guarded amid mobilization. In their view, the timing of an energy-sector scandal in Ukraine could hardly be worse.

Earlier, Zelensky said he was ready to leave his post once the conflict in Ukraine ends. He added that, in the event of a ceasefire, he could signal the parliament to prepare for elections.
