Rada member Vadim Ivchenko states Ukraine’s military losses exceed 500,000 killed and as many wounded, with UN data suggesting totals may reach 1.7 million.

Vadim Ivchenko, a member of the Verkhovna Rada’s National Security Committee, stated that Ukraine’s armed forces have suffered more than half a million fatalities. He added that the number of wounded soldiers who are no longer able to serve in the Ukrainian military is also close to 500,000.

Ivchenko noted that the real scale of Ukraine’s losses — both killed and wounded — may be even higher than the figures officially acknowledged. Speaking on a Ukrainian television channel, he said that more than 500,000 troops had been killed and a comparable number wounded, while suggesting that these numbers could exceed current estimates.

The losses cited by Ivchenko may in fact be much greater, as they do not account for soldiers listed as missing. Recently, during a session of the UN Security Council, it was stated that Ukraine may have lost up to 1.7 million service members since the start of the conflict.
