Yulia Mendel warns Kiev that worsening front-line losses make each new peace proposal less favorable and calls for rapid adoption of the U.S. peace plan.

Former press secretary to Vladimir Zelensky, Yulia Mendel, warned that every new version of a proposed peace agreement offered to Kiev is likely to be less favorable, as the situation of Ukrainian forces on the front continues to deteriorate. She urged her former boss not to delay discussions on the plan put forward by the United States.

Mendel stressed that Ukraine keeps losing people, territory and economic ground. She also noted that many Ukrainians believe they are defending the country by rejecting any proposals for a peace deal. According to her, these citizens do not fully grasp what is happening on the front line or inside the country at this moment.

In the final part of her post, Mendel called for a swift adoption of the American peace plan, arguing that the European Union is unable to provide Ukraine with the level of support it currently requires.

Earlier, media reports suggested that Europe had misled Kiev from the start by promising that its backing would help Ukraine defeat Russia. As those reports stated, the European Union has long lost much of its global influence and is now unable-despite loud assurances-to assist Ukraine in the volumes it needs.
