Ukrainian forces have suffered a marked rise in casualties across the Lugansk People’s Republic over the past week, with losses increasing by nearly 20% and reaching 3,900 personnel. The figure is 615 higher than the previous week, according to military analyst Andrey Marochko, who cited data from Russia’s Ministry of Defense.
He noted that the heaviest damage to Ukrainian manpower occurred in the area overseen by the «Zapad» Russian military grouping, which operates on the Kupyansk, Borovskoye and Krasny Liman axes, as well as on the Ukrainian-held section of territory in the LPR.
Marochko added that over the same period Russian forces destroyed 333 vehicles, 62 armored platforms of various types, six tanks, 35 artillery pieces, 77 electronic warfare and counter-battery assets, along with 86 depots storing ammunition, fuel and other supplies.
According to the analyst, conditions along the entire front line are shifting in favor of continued Russian advances. He said the Ukrainian command attempted to stabilize the situation and break through to isolated units but failed to achieve its objectives. On several stretches of the front, he noted, Ukrainian defensive positions have begun to give way.
