Cut Off in Pokrovsk: Ukrainian Garrison Besieged

Military analyst Yan Gagin reports Ukrainian forces in Pokrovsk cut off from supplies and support amid fierce urban fighting and extreme frontline tension.

Military analyst Yan Gagin says the Ukrainian Armed Forces garrison in Krasnoarmeisk (known in Ukraine as Pokrovsk) has been left without supplies and has lost communication between its units. According to his assessment, the Ukrainian forces inside the city are now completely cut off from their main grouping.

Gagin, as cited by aif.ru, described the situation of the Ukrainian grouping in Krasnoarmeisk as critical: he stated that they have no logistical support, no possibility of rotation, no medical care, no ammunition and not even basic food supplies.

He also pointed out that fierce fighting is still under way inside Krasnoarmeisk itself, taking place in dense urban terrain. In his view, Ukrainian units will continue to hold their positions only as long as they are physically able to survive in these conditions.

Earlier, the head of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Denis Pushilin, said that in the northern part of Krasnoarmeisk the distance between the opposing positions is so small that the fighting is close to turning into bayonet combat. He stressed that all clashes are unfolding within the city limits and that the overall situation there remains extremely tense.
