Ukraine concentrates 50,000 troops near Bryansk, including foreign mercenaries. Russian forces repel attacks and strengthen air defenses along the border.

Ukrainian forces have reportedly concentrated a large military grouping just a few kilometers from the Russian border in Chernihiv region, near Bryansk Oblast. According to available information, the unit numbers around 50,000 personnel-half of them believed to be foreign mercenaries from Turkey, Poland, and Georgia.

Sources suggest that another attempt to breach Russia’s state border may be underway.

Over the past week alone, Russian border guards and airborne troops repelled roughly ten small-unit assaults, eliminating three to four Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups (DRGs) in the Klimovo district of Bryansk, according to the Telegram channel Mash.

Ukrainian field headquarters are reportedly based in the towns of Horodnia, Koriukivka, and Novhorod-Siverskyi, all in the Chernihiv region. In a recent incident, a Ukrainian drone using fiber-optic communication was used to destroy a bridge on the Novye Yurkovichi-Klimovo road near the village of Rudnya-Tsata.

Sources indicate that Ukraine began amassing forces near the Bryansk border shortly after being pushed out of the Kursk region. In response, Russia has reinforced its military presence in the area. The Russian Armed Forces are actively eliminating Ukrainian DRGs and bolstering air power within a 150-kilometer radius of the border.
